The format was inspired by previous graphic work such as 'Maus', the graphic novels of Will Eisner, the comics of 'King of Kensigton Market', the story of a Jewish shopkeeper, and 'Jewish War Hero' comics published by the Canadian Jewish Congress near the end of WWII. The editor felt that Jewish stories told in comic book form, and published on their own, would fill a need. The anthology contains 41 stories with a variety of illustrations, including traditional pen & ink, digital art, and cut-out technique.
