A small archive of works by Michele Andree Guy: "La France Contemporaine," in French, 9 leaves (208 x 270 mm), typed on the recto only and bound with a clasp at top corner; "Alphonse de Chateaubriant, Romancier," in French, 11 leaves (208 x 270 mm), typed on the recto only and staple-bound at the top corner; and the translation into English of "Alphonse," 11 leaves (203 x 328 mm, lined paper), handwritten in black ink on the recto only, with corrections in ink and pencil, staple-bound at tope corner. All in excellent condition, some light wrinkling or flattened creases along the edges, nowhere infringing upon text. Alphonse de Chateaubriant was a prize-winning French novelist who became an ardent supporter of Nazism after a trip to Germany in 1935. The essay included here focuses on his writing (making no mention of his abhorent political beliefs), and a pencil notation indicates that it may have been a submission to the Bermondsey Book literary magazine, edited by Frederick Heath and published December 1923 to May 1930. However, we find no record of publication.

A poem by Wilfrid Wilson Gibson (1878-1962), a British Georgian poet and close friend of Rupert Brooke. A pencil notation indicates that this poem may have been a submission to the Bermondsey Book literary magazine, edited by Frederick Heath and published December 1923 to May 1930, however, we find no record of publication.

Unpublished typescript; 15 leaves, typed in German on the recto only, clasped at the top corners, with manuscript notations and corrections, and typed translations in English mounted to 2 pages. SOLD WITH the complete English translation; 17 leaves, typed on the recto only, staple-bound at top corner, with manuscript corrections and notations. A pencil notation indicates that this story may have been a submission to the Bermondsey Book literary magazine, edited by Frederick Heath and published December 1923 to May 1930, however, we find no record of publication. Heinrich Simon was the grandson of the founder of the Frankfurter Zeitung. He studied philosophy, literature, and Italian before joining the newspaper in 1906. He was a lively cultural force in Frankfurt, famous for his Friday lunches, of which Fritz von Unruh -- the German expressionist poet, dramatist, and novelist -- sometimes took part. Simon was eager to support Unruh, and presented him in the Frankfurter Zeitung as one of the leading poets of the day.
