Les 6 notices Ju comprennent des synthèses et mises au point sur les Institutions judiciaires du Moyen Age, puis celles qui se sont établies sur la province et le ressort à partir de l année 1679 , où le roi de France fait valoir son interprétation de la formule « Jus supremi dominii » reprise dans l article 87 des traités de Westphalie de 1648, et charge le nouveau conseil supérieur (ou souverain) d Alsace de procéder aux inventaires et incorporations de ses nouvelles possessions. La compétence du Conseil souverain d Alsace s étend progressivement sur les justices urbaines et territoriales alsaciennes héritées du Moyen Age. Les institutions révolutionnaires et d Empire s y substituent ; la nouvelle géographie judiciaire respecte les limites de la province d Alsace : ses institutions judiciaires seront avec l instruction publique et les cultes reconnus, un facteur d unité d une province, dont les deux départements sont rattachés directement à la capitale. La lettre K parcourt un nombre important de mots et d institutions alsaciennes médiévales et modernes, où se distinguent les 3 K : Kirche, Korn, Krieg, auxquels se rattachent des volumes de mots composés. Le groupe de recherche les a analysés. Kirche : il en avait traité dans un grand nombre de notices déjà et y renvoie en une présentation dûment mise en ordre. Les églises protestantes d Alsace s organisaient elles-mêmes par des règlements ecclésiastiques -Kirchenordnngen- dont une partie a été rééditée récemment. « Grosser Gott wir loben dich », ou « Ein Feste Burg ist unser Gott » : le chant religieux des cultes alsaciens a mobilisé notre recherche, et qu il trouve sa place dans « Kirchengesang» est après tout, tout à fait juste. Dans Korn, comme dans Kirche, on parcourt par des renvois les différents mots composés à partir de ce mot qui désigne la base de notre alimentation et on en explicite les plus importants. Pour Krieg : une grande et bienvenue synthèse sur la guerre médiévale. Et pour l Alsace des temps modernes, dont l existence historique a été marquée plus qu une autre par la guerre, la part prise par une Université de Strasbourg ouverte sur l Europe, dans le développement d un droit de la guerre qui vise à l encadrer, en distinguant, les théâtres, les participants et les non-participants, les déroulements et phases, et à récuser les fausses excuses qui en appellent, pour en justifier les horreurs, aux « raisons ou nécessités de guerre ».
