Then he continued his journey through the Crimea to study the Tartars and crossed the Black Sea to Trebizond Erzurum Tbilisi Constantinople and Trieste. - The famous geographer, Alexander von Humboldt - whom he met in Paris - also played a role in the financing of his scientific expedition, who also took part in the trip.
