De nazi's he…bben zich echter ook op dit gebied actief gemanifesteerd. Duitsland had sinds 1900 een sterke wetenschappelijke traditie, vooral in de fysica, met belangrijke centra in Göttingen, Berlijn en München, waar onderzoekers als Einstein en Planck bijdroegen aan de moderne natuurkunde. Na de machtsovername in 1933 probeerden de staat en de partij het wetenschappelijk denken te aligneren met de ideeën van het nationaal-socialisme, wat leidde tot het dramatische ontslag van vele prominente joodse wetenschappers. Een van de meest extreme pogingen tot nazificering vond plaats in de fysica, waar de nazi's een Arische variant wilden ontwikkelen. Wat was de impact van dit ontslagbeleid op de Duitse wetenschap? Waarom mislukte de totstandkoming van een Arische natuurkunde? In hoeverre werd het handhaven van professionele waarden gezien als verzet tegen het nationaal-socialisme?
