Hardcover. Condizione: new. Hardcover. This book bridges the gap between theoretical and empirical understandings of the informal sector to provide insight into the role of the informal sector within the development process. By analysing three economic sectors, it sets out a framework for analysing urbanisation, rural-urban migration, agriculture- industry relationship, income inequality, structural change, employment, and optimal growth. Through highlighting the economic contribution of the informal sector, its impact on the national output and influence on the labour market is shown, alongside how employment opportunities in the informal sector drive rural and urban migration. This book presents a nuanced understanding of the dynamics of the informal sector and its role in the development of economies. It will be of interest to researchers and policymakers working within development economics and growth economics. This book bridges the gap between theoretical and empirical understandings of the informal sector to provide insight into the role of the informal sector within the development process. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Seminar paper from the year 2017 in the subject History - Asia, grade: A, , language: English, abstract: The paper underscores the teleological perspective of the historical process of Indian drama from its inception to its logical culmination. It unravels the development and ramifications of Bengali drama by juxtaposing it with the popular culture of the region. The paper puts an emphasis on the regional paradigm of drama by interlacing 'orient' and 'occident' influences. It prioritizes and discerns two-fold model of Bengali drama that is hitherto not emphasised by the scholars. The first segment was the nascent stage of Bengali drama. It explains the development of Bengali drama at the intersection of Greek and Sanskrit influences. The second section was the stage of maturation of Bengali drama. It explicates the amalgam of English and Russian influences for the formation of a new style of drama in Bengal. The paper unfolds the project of internatiolization and scientific modification of a regional art.

This book argues that it is her control over India which put Britain at the apex of the world economy in the nineteenth century, and it is British policies and actions, based on her Indian foundation, which led to the globalisation of the nineteenth century - a globalisation very different from the previous globalisations in history.Technological innovations of the nineteenth century were embedded in that globalisation process. It is this which ensured that growth and innovations would not peter out this time, as they had after various "efflorescences" in history. While the increased availability of silver from the Mexican and Peruvian mines in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, and the Atlantic slave trade both had important consequences for global development, the decisive disjuncture that opened the path to modern economic growth was the British victory in the Battle of Plassey (1757), which in due course led to the colonisation of the whole of the subcontinent. The book is likely to be of interest to a diverse readership, beyond those interested in economic history and growth economics.
