This is number six of eight copies, signed by the artist on the handwritten colophon. OCLC locates no holdings of this title. This artist's book is an early example of Bicknell's work. It was created out of 39 leaves of his own handmade paper, illustrated with hand-printed color images and words, and bound in handmade paper with… twine ties weighted with lead ornaments. A small lead plaque affixed with twine to the cover is embossed with the title of the book. Bicknell says: "My practice in general explores the book; specifically ideas around a sense of place. The book as a symbol of power and knowledge can be a vehicle to communicate directly; it is a form that is understood in these terms but repositioning its context and purpose challenges these very notions." Bicknell is one of the best-known book artists in the United Kingdom. His work has been exhibited widely throughout the world and acquired by numerous private and public collections including The Bodelian Library, Bibliotheque Nazionale, Florence, Bibliotheque, Paris, The Rijksmuseum, Den Haag, The Victoria and Albert Museum, New York Public Library, and Tate Britain.

This is number three of seven copies, signed by the artist on the handwritten colophon. OCLC locates no holdings of this title. This artist's book is an early example of Bicknell's work. It was created out of 28 leaves of his own handmade paper, which incorporates natural fibers and recycled materials, and is illustrated with ha…nd-printed color images and words, and bound in rustic thick wooden boards. The artist's initials are embossed on a small piece of slate affixed to the rear board and affixed to the cover is a copper plate and wood heart. The spine is bound with green and white canvas affixed with nails and heavy staples, and leather string ties are fixed to the boards. Bicknell says: "My practice in general explores the book; specifically ideas around a sense of place.
