Gilt decorations and gilt titles within red frame on spine. Folded map at front and 358 clean pages with marbled end papers. Inside the front cover is a book plate - The gift of M Oppenheim (1853-1927, pioneer historian of English naval administration) in 1919 to Bath Public Reference Library, but none of the usual lending library stamps, although there is a faded white catalogue marking on lower spine. Published in 1871 this book is in very good condition.
