Hardcover with dark green leather spine and corners and marbled boards, only very minor rubbing of leather corners and spine ends, but no wear to boards. Gilt decorations and gilt titles within red frame on spine. Folded map at front and 358 clean pages with marbled end papers. Inside the front cover is a book plate - The gift of M Oppenheim (1853-1927, pioneer historian of English naval administration) in 1919 to Bath Public Reference Library, but none of the usual lending library stamps, although there is a faded white catalogue marking on lower spine. Published in 1871 this book is in very good condition.
