Binning, the Head of the Dept. of Fine Arts at UBC, Sakamoto is a " bishop" of the Kiyoshikojin Seichoji Temple and a collector of the paintings of Tomioka Tessai. This is a book published in a limited edition in conjunction with an exhibition of 50 pieces of Sakamoto's calligraphic paintings of Buddhist themes mounted in Vancouver in September of 1966.
