Kellogg, M.D." bookplate on front pastedown, his paper label at base of spine and blind-stamp on title page and on page 51; upper corner of half-title has small clip of old price, otherwise Very Good+ condition, pages clean and unmarked, binding square and tight; xv + 476 pages plus 36 pages of publisher's ads at end. This book is probably from the library of John Harvey Kellogg of Battler Creek, Michigan, who is credited with the invention of corn flakes breakfast cereal, and was an early proponent of vegetarianism. He and his brother Will founded a food company in Battle Creek which later became the Kellogg company.
