TWO VOLUMES Pbks royal 8vos, Volume 1 (The Middle Ages to the 18th Century): 2369pp; Volume 2 (1800 to the Present): 2239pp, illustr in b+w, some light shelfwear to covers of both volumes and a slight bump to upper rear corner of Volume 1, the surface of the spine-strips are wrinkled (in production) and spine of Volume 2 lightly faded, but overall this appears to be a near fine, clean tight and unmarked set.

Lot of the first 7 issue - comprising all of volume 1 and the first 3 of 4 issues from volume 2 - of the estimable theory journal Critical Inquiry, founded by Wayne Booth, Arthur Heiserman, and Sheldon Sacks. Wrinkling to top of spine of 1.1. Mild-moderate shelfwear and rubbing, but all pages unmarked and bright, all bindings firm. Main issue with each of these books is a slight bowing of the lower right quadrant. In overall very good condition.
