This is an excellent textbook for undergraduate and beginning graduate students studying astronomy and astrophysics. Volume 2 with stellar atmospheres. 264 pages. Provides an introduction to the study of stellar atmospheres, the basic physical ideas and laws used in the study of the outer layers of a star which emits the light we see. The only layers of a star where we can get direct information about temperature, pressure and composition are in the atmosphere. Two volumes in a 3 volume set. Volume 3 (not here) deals with steller interiors. Book.
