Condizione: NUOVO. Prato, Aurora Boreale cm.14,8x21, pp.54, brossura. Collana Symbols & Myths. Testo in Inglese The deepest historical, cultural and spiritual roots of Russian national identity can be found in an ancient kingdom known as Kievan Rus', a state that flourished from the end of the 9th to the middle of the 13th centu…ry over a vast geographical area including a large part of today's western Russia, Belarus and Ukraine, from the Baltic and White Seas in the north to the Black Sea coasts in the south. According to the Russian Primary Chronicle, the first ruler to start uniting East Slavic lands into what would become Kievan Rus' was Prince Oleg (879-912). He extended his control from Novgorod south along the Dnieper river valley to protect trade from Khazar incursions from the east, and took control of the city of Kiev. Sviatoslav I (943-972) achieved the first major expansion of Kievan Rus' territorial control, fighting a war of conquest against the Khazars. Vladimir the Great (980-1015) then introduced Christianity with his own baptism and, by decree, extended it to all inhabitants of Kiev and beyond. Kievan Rus' reached its greatest extent under Yaroslav the Wise (1019-1054); his sons assembled and issued its first written legal code, theRusskaya Pravda, shortly after his death.

Condizione: NUOVO. Prato, Aurora Boreale cm.14,8x21, pp.104, bossura copertina figurata a colori. Collana Symbols & Myths. Testo in Inglese Hammurabi, the sixth king of the Amorite First Dynasty of Babylon, ruled from 1792 to 1750 BC. He secured Babylonian dominance over the Mesopotamian plain through military prowess, diplomacy…, and treachery. This important Babylonian king is now universally known for a fundamental and surprisingly modern legal code that he promulgated for his subjects. The Code of Hammurabi is a Babylonian legal text composed during 1755-1750 BC. It is the longest, best-organized, and best-preserved legal text from the ancient Near East. It is written in Akkadian, purportedly by Hammurabi of Babylon. The primary copy of the text is inscribed on a basalt stele 2.25 m. tall discovered in 1901 at the site of Susa, today in the Louvre Museum, in Paris. We are glad to offert today to our readers the Code of Hammurabi translated into English by Leonard William King, with commentaries from Charles F. Horne, Ph.D. (1915), and Claude Hermann Walter Johns, M.A. Litt.D. (1910).

Paperback. Condizione: new. Paperback. Nicola Bizzi never ceases to amaze us with his volcanic literary production, displaying a rare ability to range from the secrets and enigms of History to the summits of Philosophy. This time, he has decided to try his hand at a maieutic-philosophical dialogue on the Platonic model, in order…to expose in dialectical form fundamental concepts present in some of his essays, including From Darkness to Light. Getting Out of Plato's Cave and Becoming Conscious and One Single Primordial Tradition? And, to do so, he has made use of the figures of Hylas and Philonous, two characters who should be well known to scholars of Philosophy, as they are the protagonists of some of the main philosophical dialogues of George Berkeley. The text you are about to read and meditate upon is not intended to be a simple intellectual exercise, let alone a mere academic imitation of classic eighteenth-century or Platonic models. It is, on the contrary, an authentic theoretical and militant manifesto, a philosophical thunderbolt hurled into the heart of that spiritual conformism which, for millennia, has anesthetized the consciences of the West. Through the voices of Hylas-the embodiment of the educated man who is nonetheless still a prisoner of dominant narratives and syncretistic seductions-and Philonous-the guardian of initiatory memory and logic-the dialogue confronts head-on the crucial knot of ancient Wisdom, tearing away the veil of that "mirage" known as the single Primordial Tradition. The central core from which the dissertation unfolds is the radical critique, conducted from an exquisitely Eleusinian and Mystery perspective, of the twentieth-century Traditionalism of Rene Guenon, Frithjof Schuon, and Raphael. Philonous unmasks with geometric lucidity the perspective error inherent in wanting at all costs to trace the infinite richness of the manifest world back to a static and undifferentiated Principle. The Author launches a frontal attack against that pernicious, entirely Greek tendency to want to reduce everything to the One, and the hollow aspiration toward violent reunification with such an Entity.According to Nicola Bizzi's thought, at the very moment when this hypothetical Primary Unity gave origin to the cosmos and generated, by emanation, its own hypostases (from which the Gods derived), it irreversibly fragmented, thereby ceasing to be One and resolving/dissolving metaphysically into the multiplicity of divine forms. The claim of a transcendent unity of religions is also masterfully addressed by the Author and identified as a legacy of the relativistic tendencies of late antiquity and Renaissance Hermetism-visions completely foreign to the original purity of the Mysteries, particularly the Eleusinian ones. From this metaphysical error, as the course of the dialogue demonstrates, sprang the triumph of monotheisms, described as actual counter-initiatory instruments of submission and social control.Liberation, as Nicola Bizzi explains to us, does not occur through faith or submission, but through two fundamental instruments of the awakened mind: Maieutics and the Noos. And it is precisely the activation of the Noos that allows one to pierce the darkness of the cave and rediscover the immortal essence that the sons of the Titan Iapetus originally infused into humanity. Paperback. Condizione: new. Paperback. Socrates, Plato's master, taught his disciple the very art of Maieutics, which Plato later knew how to use to best effect in his philosophical dialogues. Few people nowadays tend to remember that maieutike in ancient Greek literally means "midwifery". Indeed, this method, in Socrates' inten…tions, was intended to embody an action similar to that of the midwife. That's why he did not pretend to teach anything, let alone put truths into people's minds. He meant, if anything, to lead people to bring forth truths out of their minds. He did not launch redemptive programs and did not pretend to drag along hordes of followers, for he was aware that Knowledge can only emerge from deep within ourselves, from the recesses of our soul. Maieutics, through dialogue and confrontation, simply directs the interlocutor's thinking until they extrapolate truth from within themselves, "giving birth" to it, indeed. This, as the great Parmenides taught us, can be possible by activating noos, intuition, which is the true magic word with which we should all equip ourselves. In the vast majority of human beings, obfuscated by millennia of counter-initiatory slavery, the mere thought of an ascent into the higher world leads to serious misunderstanding, when not outright fright and dismay, because after all, they feel happy and have the illusion of being protected in the daily darkness of their cave, while their eyes are deceived by vague shadows that the "guardians" cast on the white wall of their minds. It is much easier, indeed, not to ask questions and live with delusional serenity in their daily Matrix. The work that the reader is about to meditate upon presents itself as a necessary and rigorous investigation into the authentic nature of Philo-Sophia, understood not as a mere dialectical exercise, but as an initiatory itinerary and a tool for inner transmutation. In an era of profound spiritual involution, Nicola Bizzi, a historian and scholar of esoteric disciplines, invites us to rediscover the indissoluble bond that unites philosophical speculation to the subterranean currents of the Mystery Tradition, restoring to thought its original function as a "sacred science".Through a precise re-reading of the Socratic and Platonic magisterium, the text highlights how Maieutics is not a simple technique of persuasion, but rather an obstetric art of the soul. It does not aim to instill truths from the outside, but to favor the birth of that Knowledge which lies latent in the recesses of being. In this sense, philosophy is configured as an act of courage: the individual effort of one who, driven by an untiring passion for truth, accepts to abandon the reassuring shadows of the "cave" to turn towards the dazzling light of intuition, the noos. The author performs an operation of great methodological interest by juxtaposing the Platonic allegory with modern evidence from behavioral psychology, such as Gordon Stephenson's experiment. This parallelism lays bare the mechanisms of "counter-initiatory slavery" and dogmatic conditioning that, for millennia, have held humanity bound to a partial and illusory reality. The essay forcefully denounces how the crystallization of imposed rules and the triumph of monotheisms have severed that umbilical cord which, in the ancient world, made man close to the divine. In these pages, therefore, Philo-Sophia returns to being what it has always been for the Initiates: a ray of light capable of piercing the opacity of the daily "Matrix". It is an invitation to awaken from the sleep of animal consciousness to undertake the path towards real Awareness, rediscovering the wonder of a cosmos where the visible is but the veil of the invisible. Paperback. Condizione: new. Paperback. This item is printed on demand.
