The present title is, however, no doubt more indicative of the concerns of the book, and I am appreciative of the opportunity to test several aspects of my earlier thesis, especially through materials of the second century AD, in more depth than I was previously able to do.' -- `Once more the context is that of the creation or generation or the son of the God-Man. Again the myth conceives of the Man as invisible and unknown, while the son is at least to some degree knowable as his manifestation. This much relates the passage to those studied above which were drawn from the followers of Colorbasus and Marcus and from the Ophites.
