Softcover. Condizione: Very Good. A Custer Ephemera Society publication in pictorial white wraps, illus., 14pp. Intro by Frank Mercatante. 500 copies printed (#55). Dustin #20. Dowd #75. O'Keefe #196. Very Good with some toning to covers. Originally published by the Hill Military Academy, Portland, Oregon, in 1926 (N.D.). This account first appeaed in the appendix of Cyrus Brady's "Northwestern Fights and Figthers" and later in Joe Milner's "Califonia Joe." This is an informative account with an anti-Custer flavor. While stationed at Fort McPherson, GA, near Atlanta, Col. Bowen spent 3 months seeking and obtaining the input of then-retired Frederick Beenteen on this manuscript, making many drafts and getting a heavy dose of Benteen's negative influence. Despite his extensive input, Benteen was extremely critical of Col. Bowen's lecture after hearing Bowen present it months later at the Grand Theater in Atlanta.
