Preview script for the 1956 pilot episode of the television series, here under the working title "Warner Bros. [Brothers] Presents: 'Shock Wave' Conflict - Act I," which aired on ABC on September 18, 1956. Laid in is a four page "Full ABC Network Station Line-Up," and bound in following the script is a one page "Note to Director," regarding the ambitions of the series presented by the cosmetics brand Pond's, presumably for the program director of a local television station. "Conflict" was an anthology television series which was aired on ABC for one season and twenty episodes from September 18, 1956 till September 3, 1957. It was the successor to ABC's earlier wheel series, "Warner Bros. Presents," which aired from September 1955 through September 1956. Among the noted actors who starred in "Conflict," include, Dennis Hopper, Natalie Wood, James Garner, Jack Lord, and Tab Hunter, among many others. A test pilot ignores the advice of the plane's designer that the plane should be grounded until a safety device is perfected. Brown titled wrappers, noted as PREVIEW SCRIPT on the front wrapper, dated Sept. 18, 1956. 18 leaves, with last page of text numbered 19. Mimeograph duplication, rectos only, with blue and yellow revision pages throughout, dated 7/2/56 and 7/6/56. Pages Near Fine, wrapper Near Fine, bound with three gold brads.

Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s. 8 x 10 inches. Unbeknownst to her, there are many people who would like to downplay the severity of the incident and prevent the story from going public. Nominated for the Palme d'Or. Set in Los Angeles, shot on location in Southern California. Negative 1 x 1.5 inches, housed in a white cardboard sleeve measuring 2 x 2 inches. Envelope 6 x 3.5 inches. Near Fine, with some slight bruising to the white cardboard sleeve. Weldon 1996.
