Aggiungi al carrelloPaperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book examines how free trade has benefited the working class and led to the United Kingdom's economic success over the past sixty years. It looks at a range of industries and sectors and compares wages and conditions in the UK to those in protectionist countries. The author notes that, in the past, protectionism caused economic hardship in the UK, with low wages, high unemployment, and poverty. In contrast, under free trade, wages have risen, and the cost of living has fallen, leading to a more prosperous and contented working class. The book argues that free trade has been a major factor in the UK's economic success and that a return to protectionism would damage the economy and harm the working class. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
