First Edition. One of 100 numbered copies, this being copy no.91. Thirty-two inserts (chiefly small letterpressed broadsides of varying sizes), including two pins, housed in a clear acetate bag, sealed with two brass brads and a letterpressed paper seal detailing the contents and contributors on verso. Various inserts numbered and signed in pencil by their contributors. A Fine copy, apparently unopened, retaining the packaging from the original owner. Debut issue of this wonderful assemblage "magazine," published by Johnny and Giselle Brewton of the Pasadena-based X-Ray Book Co. "Unlike "normal" magazines Bagazine points focus at assemblage, handwork and print making, photography, painting, chapbooks, graphic design, typography, letterpress, Visual Poetry and the unusual. Bagazine explores the assemblage and modern subculture of Bagism and creative Happening" (from the "biography" section of the Bagazine site). This issue contains a 4 1/4" x 3 1/2" broadside printing Bukowski's poem "I Shot the Cat" (which is actually a part of the poem "Panties," collected as part of As Buddha Smiles). The early issues of Bagazine are uncommon in commerce, especially complete. Debritto A196.
