No Binding. Condizione: Very Good. 1st Edition. "IT SEEMS LIKE AGES AND AGES AND YOU'VE ONLY BEEN GONE A DAY." Ahh - young love! It's not only in the classroom that time creeps by. Absence of the loved one makes the heart grow fonder - and the clock grind to a stand-still! This lovely vintage sheet music from 1920 was introduced (and performed) by Claire Mersereau, beautiful star of vaudeville and early silent movie star. Mercereau's photo portrait graces the front of this 1920 sheet music, and it says "Sincerely Claire Mersereau". The music and lyrics were written by Kendis and Brockman, who were also the composers of the hit song, "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles". The sheet music was published by Kendis and Brockman Music Company, in New York. Printed sheet music with photo-pictorial front exterior. Size : approximately 9 1/4" x 12" ; 2 pages of music, with rear exterior printed with a promotion for another song, which has an fantastic advertisement for Krakauer Brothers Pianos stamped in a huge font over the music. On the front is the stamp of the original retail dealer who sold the sheet music : L. & A. Babcock Co. Pianos, Player Pianos Talking Machines and Records Norwich, N.Y. Your voice I hear You seem so near, Still you are far, far away, Time drags along Everything's wrong As broken-hearted I stray. It seems like ages and ages, And you've only been gone a day, The night shadows fall, With tears I recall, True love in a shack, How I wish you were back, The long and weary hours Just wear my heart away It seems like ages and ages And you've only been gone a day. CONDITION -- VERY GOOD -- This is a nicely preserved sheet music with only modest wear - a bit of surface rumple to paper, some small smudging, spotting and weathering (nothing terribly egregious) - some chipping and nicking along the edges, bumped corner tips - spine is not split.
