The author delves into the organization's inner rules, revealing the strategies and tactics they employed to achieve their goals, which included gaining influence over powerful individuals and institutions. The book offers a fascinating look into the machinations of a group that exerted a significant impact on European history. Through excerpts from the "Secreta Monita," a set of secret instructions for Jesuits, the book unveils the order's tactics for achieving influence. These tactics ranged from subtle manipulation of individual consciences to more aggressive strategies aimed at gaining control over powerful institutions. The book highlights the Jesuits' relentless pursuit of power and influence, even if it required sacrificing morality. The book's exploration of the Jesuits' political maneuvering, moral flexibility, and strategic use of religious authority provides a unique insight into the dynamics of power within the Catholic Church and the broader political landscape of the 17th century. The author's meticulous analysis of the Jesuit's secrets offers a valuable historical perspective on the intricate relationships between religion and politics in this crucial era.
