His photographs of Southwest arts and crafts, landscapes, and Indian ruins have been included in numerous books and articles. He and his wife, Marnie have also published numerous books on Native Americans of the Southwest and archeology. Gaede has held many titles over the years, including anthropologist, ecologist, and photographer. Gaede has been an instructor of photography, environmental issues, and Physical Anthropology in the Department of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California since 1988.
