Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Near Fine. 1st Edition. 300 pages with a 16 page introduction by John Le Carre & 22 photo plates. Wine colour cloth boards, gilt titles down the spine, uncut outer edge. All near fine, the wrapper has a few light edge rubs and minor handling, otherwise also near fine. *…In the detailed into by Le Carre he says "Philby is the price we pay for being moderately free; for being able to read this book. And there is still a side to Philby's head which knows it and will know it till he dies. Stupid, credulous, smug and torpid as the "Establishment" may have been, it erred on the side of trust". Has it changed I ask myself.
