Je viens vous présenter une saga romanesque intitulée C'est pas moi je le jure! Sincèrement, cela doit bien faire une éternité depuis la…dernière fois où j'ai lu un roman avec une écriture aussi bien maîtrisée. Bruno Hébert, dans son tout premier livre, nous emmène dans la peau d'un petit garçon âgé de dix ans. Déjà là, succès garanti. Ce que j'ai particulièrement adoré de ce roman, c'est l'impression qu'on a de vivre une histoire au travers des yeux d'un gamin. À un certain stade de la lecture, on se rend compte que l'auteur a forcément dû s'inspirer des détails de son enfance pour écrire quelque chose avec autant de «jus». Vous aurez certainement des souvenirs d'enfance à un point ou à un autre de la lecture, tellement les comportements de l'enfant sont dignes d'un docteur en psychologique infantile. Puisque je vous conseille fortement d'en faire la location ou l'acquisition, voici une petite mise en situation : Léon Doré, qui vit dans un Québec des années soixante, veut se diviser en deux. Il veut être le mal et le bien. Il veut être le ciel et la terre, l'enfer et le paradis : il veut être lui-même et quelqu'un d'autre. Les parents de Léon, qui ne s'aiment plus, se sont quittés. On vivra, au travers de longues séquences descriptives poussées, les aventures de Léon dans sa fuite de la réalité. Dans un sujet tabou, Bruno Hébert nage comme un poisson dans l'eau. Son livre, qui se lit d'une traite, est tout simple, comme il est difficile de détester. C'est pas moi je le jure! est plus qu'un simple roman : c'est la preuve que la perception des évènements par les enfants est plus complexe qu'on le pense, comment les enfants sont beaucoup plus réceptifs aux paroles, aux faux-bond et aux marottes que n'importe quel autre sphère de la société. S'en est presque troublant. Book.
