Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. 1st Edition. Syracuse University Press, Syracuse, NY. 1974. 212 pages. First American edition; first printing. Book is about fine. Bright, tight and clean. Binding and hinges are strong and sound. Green cloth panels are bright and clean. Pages and endpapers a…re clean; no writing within aside from a tiny previous owner's name neatly written on top edge of FFEP. Original DJ shows light rubbing along edges. This is the now-classic memoir of noted Irish folklorist, Peig Sayers, in which she describes her childhood immersed in traditional Munster Irish-speaking culture, rack-renting Anglo-Irish landlords that resulted in extreme poverty, the coercive Anglicization of the educational system, devout Catholicism, and a mass emigration to the New World; or the American wake. Near fine/VG. First American edition; first printing.
