This G+ book was published by Whitman in 1955; it is 7-7/8" x 5-1/2" with 283 numbered pages, followed by 2 unnumbered pages of ads; there is a frontis on plain paper with about 12 other full page illustrations plus a small illustration at the beginning of each of the 21 chapters. The book is square, reasonably clean, with two very small dings on the top of the front board and small bumps to each of the four front corners--the front two have slight paper damage. The flat spine is clean and has no fading but all of its four corners has slight damage. The clean cellophane-like coating is intact everywhere except at the gutters where it has come loose but it is not torn. Bottom edges have virtually no wear. The interior is completely free of writing, stray marks, stains of any type and any type of paper damage. The paper is mildly toned, and a bit more so for about 3/4" around the perimeter of all pages--however, the paper is still flexible and it is brittle only around the perimeter of each page. The rear hinge is quite strong and completely free of damage; the front hinge, however,is rather loose--the end paper covering it has torn, completely exposing the underlying material and weakening the hinge noticeably. The five sections of the book are: The Creek War; "I Get Into Politics"; The Alamo; Davy Crockett & Mike Fink; and Davy Crockett and the Pirates. The book closely follows the Disney shows.…
