Only a good copy but a scarce Mississippi temperance publication featuring twenty-nine chapters (primarily essays regarding the religious, legal, moral, etc. facets of the movement) by a myriad of contributors including Richmond Pearson Hobson, Charles Betts Galloway, James Bruton Gambrell, Henry Grady, Charlton Henry Alexander, Robert G. Ingersoll, George W. Eichelberger, et al. Preface on page 3 and Index on page 128 but with the latter actually being a table of contents. No publication date specified but Alexander and Eichelberger essays cite 1912 so presumably issued between 1912-1915. Contrasting to this 128 page edition, OCLC cites two different DESTROYING THE DESTROYER WITH TWO WEAPONS undated editions - a 94 page booklet (held by five institutions) and a 110 page booklet held by the University of Mississippi. {MS-Shelf#1}.

Tan paper covers lightly soiled but well toned with slight edge-wear; past owner's pencil signature at front cover's top margin; small chip at spine head with short tear at front joint heel. A few small stains and slight foxing to interior leaves with a few corners… creased and/or worn; interior pages overall remain clean. Binding is firm. A very good- copy of a scarce Mississippi temperance publication featuring eighteen chapters (primarily essays regarding the religious, legal, moral, etc. facets of the movement) by a myriad of contributors including Richmond Pearson Hobson, Charles Betts Galloway, James Bruton Gambrell, Henry Grady, Charlton Henry Alexander, Robert G. Ingersoll, George W. Eichelberger, et al. Preface on page 3 and Contents on page 4; laid-in between pages 34-35 is small folded sheet from the Anti-Saloon League, Jackson, Miss., soliciting orders for the temperance journal "The American Issue." No publication date specified but Alexander and Eichelberger essays cite 1912 so presumably issued between 1912-1915. OCLC cites a 94 page undated edition of DESTROYING THE DESTROYER WITH TWO WEAPONS (held by five institutions) and this 110 page edition held only by the University of Mississippi; this bookseller has also catalogued a 128 page version which presumably post-dates the other two. {MS-Shelf#2|CMS-01068}.
