"Here we have the life of an average man, one who is not particularly noted as a performer, as a singer or storyteller might be, but who, at the age of seventy-four, decided to set down on paper some of the facts and experiences stored in his memory during his lifetime. As one of the oldest men now living who were born and bred in Harbour Buffett his knowledge of the history of the community is not only extensive but unique. His account is as frank and factual as it is vivid. He shares with many Newfoundlanders the strong sense of place, of belonging, both to the island and to his community." - Preface. xii, 262 p. Footnotes. Profusely illustrated in black and white with maps, diagrams, reproductions of archival photos, graphs, tables and facsimiles of documents. Average wear. Binding intact.
