Pagination de 25 è 47. Extrait du feuillet de présentation. "[]je viens de faire paraître un album de coiffures historiques, pour lequel je suis b…reveté. Il se compose de 24 gravures, exécutées avec le plus grand soin, représentant des coiffures grecques, Renaissance, Louis XIV, Louis XV, Louis XVI, Empire et quelques unes de création toute récente. Chaque gravure est accompagnée d'un texte explicatif en regard, qui en facilite extrèmement l'exécution par une femme de chambre ou par l'artiste investi de votre confiance." Notre album, le second d'une série de cinq publiée trimestriellement, comprend les coiffures Pompadour (1745), la Sultane (1823), la Parabère (1730), l'incroyable (1782), La nouvelle Diane, la Frisonne etc. Très bon état pour cet album de modèles de coiffures pour soirées, bals et travestissements. Extrait de La petite revue de Lorédan Larchey, numéro de février 1864 : "M. H. de Bysterveld est un coiffeur artiste du faubourg Saint-Honoré. Chai que trimestre, il publie un Album contenant vingt-quatre coiffures, toutes choisies « avec goèt et discernement. » C'est lui qui l'avoue. Nous tenons en main sa livraison la plus récente, et, è défaut de vignettes, nous régalerons le lecteur des noms donnés par M. H. de Bysterveld è ses 24 derniers spécimens. Il nous en coèterait trop de passer sous silence : la Pompadour, «charmante composition, ainsi nommée è cause du goèt exquis qu'avait pour se coiffer cette favorite de Louis XV » la Déesse, « coiffure toute moderne, d'un effet grandiose » la Frisonne, d'origine hollandaisela Sultane, « coiffure en turban de gaze bleue d'un effet charmant»la Parabère, « d'un style jeune et gracieux » l'Incroyable, « d'un style riche qui fait désirer vivement son adoption» la Coquille, renouvelée de 1823, et tirant son nom d'une variété de coques formant coquilles la Guerrière, « d'un style moderne et hardi, avec boucles-canon» le Coup de vent, «d'une légèreté incroyable; » la Nouvelle Diane, «d'un genre gracieux et d'une coupe hardie » la Girafe, datant de 1832, « et ne manquant pas d'un certain cachet plein d'originalité » -Madame Royale, «d'une beauté remarquable et d'un style noble et élevé, autrefois portée par Madame, fille de Louis XVI» la Haydée « d'originalité Orientale » - le Premier pas « charmante pour une jeune personne; qui fait son entrée dans le monde » la Favorite, «d'un genre jeune et gracieux Galathée, « d'un style grandiose - l'Inspiration « entièrement nouvelle comme agencement de cheveux » la Souveraine, «donnant une grande douceur è la physionomie d'une blonde » le Caprice, «au cachet élégant et original la Candeur, « d'une simplicité et d'une grâce parfaite, entièrement du style romain » la Pensée, « jeune et modeste » la Sirène, « entièrement nouvelle et d'un très-bel effet » Mais tout cela, n'est rien encore è côté de l'Hirondelle, « d'une création récente et d'un effet des plus charmants, pouvant ètre portée par une brune ou par une blonde. » Voici l'exécution : « Remonter les cheveux des tempes et faire une natte en relevant bien la mèche ; dans le milieu, quelques boucles postiches. Derrière, des nattes. Poser une grappe de raisin avec une petite hirondelle. » Cela doit ètre en effet charmant. Nous aimons surtout cette petite hirondelle avec sa grappe de raisin. L-L.".
