Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Fair. 3 oversized volumes, each with somewhat worn dust-jackets. Volume 1 bound in orange cloth; volume 2 in red cloth; volume 3 in green cloth. All three have DJ's that are plain off-white paper with titles printed on covers and spines. DJ's are faded and with tears and chips from decades of use. The DJ flaps are glued down at inside front cover & perhaps this set would be best served by discarding the DJ's once it arrives in a new home. Volume 1 has a crack in the interior gutter at page 265 where the book had been laid open and slightly crushed in that position. All the pages/signatures are still attached, but it's not as tight as it used to be. Volumes 2 and 3 are less used, and in better condition. Printed on low quality paper in India in the 1950s. Volume 1 published in 1957. Volume 2 published in 1958. Volume 3 published in 1959. Measures 8.5 x 11 inches. About 600 pages per volumes, printed in double columns. This is the Revised and Enlarged Edition of Prin. V.S. Apte's The Practical Sanskrit-English Dictionary. An excellent reference and one of the first substantial English-Sanskrit dictionaries. Some extra shipping will be necessary because this is a heavy set. Please email with questions or to request photos. Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Fair. Revised and Enlarged Edition. 28.5 x 22 cm. 1768pp + 112pp for 6 appendices for Sanskrit Prosody, dates of important Sanskrit writers, geographical names in ancient India, list of old Sanskrit Lexicons, collection of popular Sanskrit maxims, and Grammatical Concordance. Three volume hardcover set in dust jackets. The jackets have pieces out of them and show soiling. Bindings feel a bit loose but holding. First done in 1890, this editions is much revised and enlarged. Volume 1 was done in 1957, the second volume came out in 1958 and the third volume in 1959. Uncommon "The Sanskrit is in Devanagari script throughout. Major words are given citations and brief quotations from Sanskrit literature: quotations are in Sanskrit only. English glosses are based more firmly on literature, with fewer direct borrowings from traditional lexicography, than is the case with Monier-Williams's dictionary".
