Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book examines the chemical composition of human teeth at different ages. The author demonstrates that the oxides of gold should be considered as electronegative metals, capable of forming salts with acids. Considerable attention is paid to the action of acids on the chlorides and oxides of gold. The author argues that the precipitates obtained by adding sulfate or nitrate of silver to a solution of gold are mixtures of the chloride of gold and chloride of silver. Interesting results are given relative to the action of alkalis on the chlorides of gold, and especially to the formation of the double chloride of gold and potassium. The author then treats of the action of various vegetable substances and particularly of vegetable acids, on the chlorides and oxides of gold. Much valuable and curious information is contained in this book, which is well worthy the attention of chemists and those interested in dental health. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
