Max Weber. By Holger Cahill and published in New York City by The Downtown Gallery. 1930. 43 + [64] pp. 10.25" x 7.25". Hardcover. As-is, with light scuffing to boards. Loss to much of binding on spine. Light starting to front hinge. Text block remains bound well. Includes thirty-two black-and-white plates at rear, along with accompanying description pages. Later images do not contain tissue guards. Includes 1956 inscription from Webster on front end page. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce inscribed piece by cubist painter Max Weber (1881-1961). A Jewish immigrant from the Russian Empire, Weber's art began for reflect his Jewish beliefs and values later in life. Book by art administrator, curator, and head of the Federal Art Project Holger Cahill (1887-1960). Likely produced to accompany a gallery exhibition.
