On the front cover is a printed synapis of the book. The book is in poor conditionover all, with worn and soiled covers, chipped pages and some browning and fo…xing in the text. The rear cover and end paper are dog-eared. The text block is sewn together, so there are no loose pages. The bottom of the first leaf is water stained with red dye from the covers. Still a decent working copy of an unusual treatise. Lu B. Cake was actually a reverend from New York named Robert S. Young. His daughter Dorothy Lena Young became Harry Houdini's assistant. ; The author presents the case of who killed Jesus as a lawyer would during a trial. He contends (and backs up with historical and theological information) that the Jews were not responsible for his crucification. Towards the end of his treatise Cake writes, "The Jews condemned and rejected Him according to their law. The Gentiles scourged and crucified Him contrary to their law." ; frontispiece portrait of author; 16mo 6 3/4" x 5"; 118 pages.
