The conference also included testimony from Dr. G. Lotrell Timanus, who performed 5,210 illegal abortions between 1920 and 1951. This report, which includes a summary of abortion and birth control laws in the United States, is credited with launching a national discussion on reformed abortion laws. Introduction by M.F.
