The DB4GT not only symbolises the heyday of the road and race GT era, but it also has an illustrious history in the hands of some of the true greats including Moss, Hill and Clark. The DB4GT actually won its debut race in 1959. The book examines in detail the history of every DB4GT manufactured as well as the design and development of the car and tells of the brilliance of the craftsmen involved in producing it. This Chassis Edition is in as new condition and is Limited Edition Number AP1. The Chassis Edition was limited to a print run of 102 copies to reflect the vehicle chassis numbers. The chassis were numbered DP199 for the Prototype and 101 to 201 for the remainder.The book is bound in blue-grey soft leather with a white roundel onlaid in leather blocked with the Author's Proof number AP1 in black. The book is presented in a solander box encased in blue and grey buckram with two colour gilt blocking and an aluminium plate engraved with AP1. A separate portfolio, covered and lined in buckram, holds four original and numbered limited edition prints by Jeremy Dixon and Paul Smith.The book contains 544 pages with some 850 photographs and illustrations. The Chassis Edition of the book has been sold out for some considerable time and this is a rare opportunity to acquire a copy in as new condition This is a very large book which weighs over 10Kg and, for this reason, it will not be offered for sale outside the UK.
