BANDES VON T…IGERSTEDTS EDITORISCHEM FRÜHWERK; 'LABORATORIUMS-HEFTE' 5 UND 6 IN 1 BAND. - Einbandrücken etwas beschädigt; INNEN TADELLOS. - Der finnische Physiologe Robert Adolph Armand Tigerstedt (1853-1923) ging nach seinem Studium in Helsinki ans Karolinska-Institut nach Stockholm, wo er zunächst Assisten von Lovén wurde und bald dessen Nachfolge antrat. Er befasste er sich insbesondere mit der Physiologie des Blutkreislaufs, Ernährung und Stoffwechsel und erfand einen Respirationsapparat zur Messung der Atemgase, den 'Tigerstedt-Sonden Respirationsapparat'. Zusammen mit seinem Studenten Per Bergman entdeckte er 1898 das Enzym 'Renin'; seine Lehrbücher wurden Standardwerke.
