Edition of 999 numbered copies, signed by Beam on the ruler and on the lower right corner of the backing. This multiple was produced in conjunction with the exhibition Buried Images May 18 - June 11, 1995 held at Lake Galleries, Toronto. The work forms part of a series derived from a 1992 action called Burying the Ruler, in which the artist ritually buries a ruler in sand. Carl Beam is a significant Native Artist and one of the most important Conceptual Artists working in Canada. This was the first time that the artist produced a work of this nature.
