Softbound. Shades of olive green stapled wraps, French flaps, [32 pp.], 49 bw plates. Issued in conjunction with a 1975 exhibition of a wide variety of artists and artwork. With an essay by Carlus Dyer and a foreword by Larry Aldrich. "Our exhibition theme . is a respone to the challenge of diversity," writes director Carlus Dyer. "In current art there is the necessary consideration of apparent opposites. We believe that encouragement of a change of view is essential for newer and different ways of looking at things. Perhaps the suggestion of a way for more contemplative approaches is appropriate, in a time of need for the active reassessment of values of matters at hand. The challenges of the fluctuating scene of the world of contemporary art continue to be an absorbing drama. The values expressed by the artists are probative of our human sensibility. It is ever the task of the museum, critic, and the knowledgeable viewer to complete the circuit. . [This] is an open invitation for all who see it to join in our own adventure, the curatorial excitement in assembling and mounting the show. On our own part we can share with each artist the particular unqiueness of each work -- in the manner of a moveable feast" VG- (ink library stamps on title page, wear at edges of cover).
