Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. 1st Edition. The Man Who Moved The World (The Bible in Pictures Series) Author: Text by Carol-Joy Patrick and David Patrick Illustrator: John Pickering Publisher: Stanborough Press Ltd, Grantham, England Publication Date: 1986 ISBN: 0-904748-30-8 Format: Hardcover, no dust jacket (as issued) Pag…es: 144+ (complete) Condition: Near Fine Description: A bright and attractive first edition of this scarce Christian comic book / graphic novel retelling the life of Jesus Christ and the early Church. Part of the popular "The Bible in Pictures" educational series published by Stanborough Press (the official Seventh-day Adventist publishing house in the UK). ISBN 0-904748-30-8" Vibrant full-colour comic-strip panels present the complete story from the Annunciation to Mary, through Jesus' ministry, miracles (including the calming of the storm featured on the cover), teachings, crucifixion, resurrection, and the spread of the Gospel through the Apostles and Paul, concluding with visions of the new earth. Includes a detailed contents list and scripture references. Designed as an engaging, accessible Bible story resource for children, youth, and families. Illustrator: John Pickering - noted for his dynamic, expressive comic art in religious educational publications. His illustrations bring the biblical narrative to life with dramatic action, emotional depth, and clear storytelling suitable for all ages. Authors/Text: Carol-Joy Patrick and David Patrick crafted a faithful, flowing script that follows the Gospel accounts while making the story accessible and inspiring. Physical Condition - Near Fine: Clean, bright red boards with the iconic white spine and circular cover illustration of Jesus calming the storm. Titles sharp and unfaded. Interior pages are crisp, bright, and unmarked with no writing, highlighting, or foxing. Binding tight and square. Minor flaws: Very light bottom corner bumps (barely noticeable, does not affect the text block or structural integrity). A couple of very faint shelf-rub marks to the lower edges. Overall an excellent, well-preserved copy that presents beautifully on the shelf. Provenance note: Previously from a small private collection with small address label on the front endpaper. A wonderful and increasingly hard-to-find title from the 1980s British Christian comics scene. Ideal for collectors of religious illustrated books, Bible story resources, or classic UK comic art. John Pickering (illustratore).
