Between the years 1862 and 1900 as t cowhand and later as trail boss, Lucky 7 traveled all the fames cattle trails or Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Colorado, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona. In 1900, after a full and active life, he retired to his own rance west of the Pecos. As the years passed he watched the fences go up and the free range disappeared.
