No Binding. Condizione: Very Good. Philip Carrigain (illustratore). 3rd Edition. This is the third edition, 1st printing (reduced in size) of this important and prominent map of New Hampshire by Carrigain. It was thus included in: 'The Geology of New Hampshire' (1874-1878) in the folio, 'Atlas Accompanying the Report on the Geology of New Hampshire.' Along with 17 other important, (mostly Colored) maps. Mild dampstaining along edges with the top edge chipping (far from the maps body.) It is professionally estimated that there are less than 100 copies of this atlas map in existence and they rarely are seen for sale without the rest of the atlas. We recently came into possession of an example and said atlas with 11 of the total maps present. Please let me know if you need any of them to complete your set.

Mevers and Stark, ?The Making of the Carrigain Map of New Hampshire,? Historical New Hampshire, vol. 52 nos. 3&4 (Fall/Winter 1997) alludes to a second edition from which Carrigain sold copies privately, but cited no known copies. Ristow p.96., Streeter 729.
