Originally commissioned for a cancelled edition of Carroll's two Alice books (the other to be illustrated by Graham Ovenden), these were instead released as limited-edition silkscreen prints. For his subject as Alice, he chose the daughter of a friend Amelia Gatacre with William Gatacre serving as Hatter, and Amelia and her sister as Tweedledum and Tweedledee. Blake s silkscreens are reproduced herein alongside the main prose of Through the Looking Glass, as fold-out sheets.
