The illustrations include "The Last Flower: A Parable in Pictures." The back cover states, "*A Thurber Carnival* opened at the ANTA Theatre in New York on February 26, 1960. The present recording includes a sequence, 'Memorial to a Dog,' that was cut from the production before the opening because of time considerations, but is included here as representing Mr. Thurber's abiding affection for dogs of all walks of life."
