Based in Dordrecht, he was one of the first doctors to write medical treatises in the Dutch vernacular rather than Latin, making health advice accessible to the general public. His most famous work, Schat der Gesontheyt (Treasure of Health), combined practical medical guidance with moral philosophy and citations from classical literature. 1408574. Special Collections.
