Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Fair. Adrian De Friston (illustratore). This edition was published in 1926. On the copyright page it first says 'First Published In This Edition 1926' and then right below it states 'Reprinted 1926'. So this is the second printing of the 1926 edition. It was printed in Great Britain. The dust jacket has only 'Dutton' at the bottom of the spine and E. P. Dutton & Company at the bottom of both flaps. From the title page: 'Fully Illustrated With Twenty-Eight Drawings In Pen & Ink By Adrian De Friston And the Many Contemporary Portraits.' You can see the covers in the photos. They are quite clean. There's a little bit of either color fade or light soiling just off the top edge of the rear cover just adjacent to the spine, not at all conspicuous. There are three instances where there is a small area of rub-through, one at the rear top edge and two at the front bottom edge. The latter two can be seen peeking over the edge (see fourth photo). The corners don't have any wear. The page edges are quite clean. The book is pretty square and quite decently bound. I found only one instance where there was a very slight space between two facing pages, not much of anything, probably where the book was left lying open. Both covers are very nicely and tightly bound. The interior of the book does not show its age at all. The pages are exceptionally clean. There is one small spot on the frontispiece and on the facing title page. It's the same spot in the same place on both pages. Otherwise, in scrolling through the pages, I saw almost nothing at all by way of soiling, one speck, maybe a few tiny spots at most. The illustrations, most full-page, are in excellent condition. I didn't see any foxing or spotting anywhere. There's also little to no creasing, and no turned-down corner creases or placeholder creases. There are no markings. There are no attachments. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. The dust jacket, or at least the spine of the jacket, has had a rougher time. I've rated it only Fair, taking into account its age. I do have it in a fitted protective cover. The front cover is in quite good shape and exceptionally clean. However, as you can see, the spine has significant losses off its top and bottom edges as well as a tear on both. The loss also extends just on to the rear cover off its top edge. The rear cover is also exceptionally clean. The spine is quite faded. The edge between the front cover and front flap and the edge between the rear cover and rear flap has some scuffing. All four corners of the flaps are clipped. There is no price present. I don't know whether or not there was originally a price. It would've had to of been pretty small. There's also a small tear off the top edge of the rear flap and a strip of tan vertical toning. From the dust jacket: 'This illustrated edition is one of the most famous-- and perhaps the most entertaining-- of all autobiographies. The vivacious "Life" of the Florentine sculptor gives us a fascinating picture of genius, set in a most colorful panorama of the age. The introduction and completing chapter by the editor on "Benvenuto's Last Days" are highly interesting and valuable, and there is also added an index, as well as biographical and textual notes.'.
