Benson, Vermont. Chalidze Publications. 1991 [1815]. A facsimile printing of the 1815 second edition. Octavo (8 x 6). 134 pp. plus advertisements. The book contains the familiar treatment on how to catch trout and salmon, plus all the known species of British trash fish (you know, the usual suspects: Tench, Barbel, Bream, Gudgeon, Loach, Mullet, Roach, Carp, plus others, and the slightly less common, Penk). This is a manual, and if there's one thing about manuals, it's you don't want even one additional word - just instructions with no flourishes. The material herein was pretty much stolen from previous authors so you won't find any new revelations, unless, of course, you don't know about these other authors. The book is bound in orange cloth with gilt titles. A nice book. Fine.
