Dark blue cloth binding with gilt title to spine. Gift dedication in front loose end paper dated 26th March, 1984. A dissertation presented to the Graduate Faculty of Middle Tennessee State University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree Doctor of Arts . August, 1983. This study traces the attitudes and behavior of adherents to the British Crown in the colony of Georgia during the Revolutionary War and their experience in exile. During the American Revolutionary War, not all of the colonists fought against Britain, and those who supported the King were called Loyalists, or Tories. After the war and the 1783 Treaty of Versailles and their expulsion from the United States, about 70 Loyalists were granted land in other British territories and colonies as compensation for their losses in the thirteen Colonies by George III. Nearly all of these grants were on North Caicos and Middle Caicos. pp188 20.5 cm. Seller Inventory #002587.…
