Prima edizione belga, pubblicata lo stesso anno dell'originale francese in due volumi (Allardin, Paris, 1835) - Opera completa di tre volumi, uniforme rilegatura in mezza pelle con titolo e decorazioni in oro ai dorsi; 405, 309, 259 pagine. Ordinari segni d'uso ai margini delle copertine, diffuse fioriture alle carte; nel complesso opera comunque ben conservata e fruibile in ogni sua parte; non comune -- Pierre-Denis de Peyronnet (1778-1854) fu ministro dell'Interno ad interim nel 1825 e nel 1826, poi dal 19 maggio 1830 fino alla caduta del regime. Condannato all'ergastolo, fu rinchiuso nel forte di Ham e liberato nell'ottobre del 1836. Fu lì che redasse la presente opera, come segnala la dedica, così come la prefazione che precisa: «Ho scritto questo libro con attenzione. Ma mi trovo in un luogo dove le risorse non abbondano: mi saranno sicuramente sfuggiti degli errori; forse molti. Chiedo a coloro che li noteranno di avere un po' di indulgenza." ("J'ai écrit ce livre avec attention. Mais je suis en un lieu où les ressources n'abondent point : il me sera sûrement échappé des fautes ; peut-être beaucoup.
