This was the substance of the self-examination which Judge Charles E. Wyzanski, Jr., presented in the annual Cardozo Lecture before the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. A graduate of Harvard and the Harvard Law School who served as secretary to both Judge Augustus N. Hand and Judge Learned Hand, and from 1935 to 1937 as special assistant to the Attorney General of the United States, Judge Wyzanski was appointed to the U.S. District Court of Massachusetts in December, 1941.…

INSCRIBED ON THE FFEP TO CARL KAYSEN, THEN DIRECTOR OF THE INSTITUTE FOR ADVANCE STUDIES, PRINCETON. IN ADDITION, A LONG 1973 LETTER FROM WYZANSKI TO KAYSEN, IN ITS ENVELOPE, IS LAID IN. IN IT HE DISCUSSES KAYSEN'S DECISION TO ACCEPT THE POSITION AT PRINCETON, SAYNG THAT HE SHOULD ACCEPT A UNIVERSITY PROFESSORSHIP AT HARVARD. Kaysen had advised the judge on an antitrust case, and had published a book on it. Also laid-in is the program of a Harvard memorial service for Wyzanski, in 1986. A very good copy in black cloth boards with some spots to back cover. No jacket.…
