Charles Spurgeon Johnson, 1893-1956, who in 1921became the founder and editor of "Opportunity: A Journal of Negro Life" which happened during his tenure as director of research for the National Urban League in New York. He came to Fisk University in 1927 to head the department of social research, in 1946 he was selected by the board of trustees to be its sixth president and first black president. Extremely SCARCE publication, only one other copy is for sale. W.E.B. DuBois was one of the participants.…
