Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good+. 1st Edition Thus; 1st Printing. B&W Photographs; A novelization by Charleson Gray based on a story by James A. Creelman. This is the true first edition of the novelization of the movie, illustrated with three black and white stills and the frontispiece showing scenes from the movie starring Rudy Vallee. This book is in Very Good+ condition and is lacking the dust jacket. The book and its contents are in mostly clean, bright condition. There is a slight rearward slant to the spine of the book and some light edge wear, rubbing and beginning fraying to the spine ends and corners. The text pages are mostly clean and bright, though there are several pages with small edge chips and some beginning foxing. "A Failure! Rudy Bronson saw looking down at the puncture pattern on the tips of his shoes, his mouth twisted in a grim, unhappy line. He was a slim, apparently sensitive boy, with a crest of waving blond hair and eyes in which the spirit of the dreamer wass fused with that of the romantic." "The Vagabond Lover is a 1929 American Pre-Code black-and-white, comedy-drama musical film about a small-town boy who finds fame and romance when he joins a dance band. The film was directed by Marshall Neilan, and is based on the novel of the same name, written by James Ashmore Creelman, who also wrote the screenplay. It was Rudy Vallee's first feature film, and also starred Sally Blane, Marie Dressler, and Charles Sellon. The film premièred in New York City on November 26, 1929, and was released wide on December 1. A DVD version was released on March 29, 2005. The Vagabond Lover is an early example of a vehicle created for a popular music star, in a style echoed by later films such as Jailhouse Rock with Elvis Presley and A Hard Day's Night with The Beatles."
